im a bit rusty after not writing for a while,,so i hope this is okay!!

- in this au, if you get psychically hurt, your soulmate can feel the pain too

- all your life, you were always careful to not injure yourself in fear of hurting your soulmate 

- you first figured out this soulmate thing when you were little and you felt a burning sensation on your knees

- of course, you cried and you told your parents but there was nothing wrong with you 

- but you could only cry because the pain equaled the feeling of skidding the palms of your hands

- your parents soon figured out what was wrong and told you of the concept of soul mates 

- and although it was hard to understand, you eventually figured it out and from then on, you were careful to not injure yourself 

- you remembered one time you fell off your bike and scrapped your knees 

- not only did you cry, but you also cried because somewhere out there, you hurt your soulmate 

- since then, you were always careful on keeping yourself safe and to not cause any pain to your soulmate

- and it seemed like your soulmate also understood because they would try to keep themselves safe from pain 

- but sometimes you would get a familiar burning sensation of a cut or burn 

- and you would only worry that your soulmate was okay and wasn’t too hurt

- but as time went on, you would get random bruises on your knees or cramps in your calves or feet

- you were like ???  but you hoped your soulmate was okay because really, what would cause those bruises or cramps?? if only you knew

- as you grew older, you always tried to look for your soulmate 

- even if there wasn’t a means to contact them (except getting hurt of course,,but you didn’t want to go to those measure,,yet)

- you tried to look out for them and lbr,,,with the only means to contact them was by getting hurt,,,you were a little desperate 

- sometimes, you would get hurt by accidentally scraping your arm against a corner or hitting your feet against a desk 

- (and obviously in school, they wouldn’t be there since no one would be getting hurt smh) 

- eventually, you gave up on the idea of your soulmate living near you and resorted to meeting them by fate 

- one day, your friend had dragged you along to this fan meeting for wanna one 

- she was a huge fan ever since watching the show and managed to score tickets for the two of you 

- and you weren’t going to pass up the offer?? it wasn’t every day you would see idols 

- (plus,,you did listen to their music so you did have some knowledge on them at least) 

- okokok anyways, skipping to that day 

- you guys got there quickly and despite the long line there was, it passed by quickly and you guys got to the signing quickly 

- you had chatted with them quickly as they signed your album (that u bought before the event shh) 

- and you had to admit,,,they were even more good looking up close like,,,was it possible for someone with looks of a god to be this good looking up close??? like wth 

- finally, you reached jisung (your fav ok) and he wasted no time making you comfortable and having small talked as he signed your album 

- talking with his was?? strangely easy?? he was quick to crack jokes or make some exaggerated gestures 

- and even though he was extra, he always made sure the smile on your face was never gone 

- at one point, he made a snark joke to one of the members beside him and they were quick to smack him on the head 

- cue you also feeling the pain and wincing as you touched the side of your head 

- also cue jisung looking at you with wide eyes as he too cradled his head

You have been a trainee for almost a year now

But you’re not in a rush to debut tbh

You have this mindset that you’ll eventually get what you want if you work hard enough

Given you’re also in a quite new and small company so they can’t really splurge on someone’s debut yet

When you auditioned it was the first audition the company had

If it wasn’t for your dancing skills you might have not even made it in to the company

At least that’s what you think

You’re not bad at singing just practicing a lot would stabilize your talent more

Anyway on with the story

You are quite the hard worker and after school you go straight to the company to train

You also tend to lose track of time and stay late as one of the last people to leave the building

Today wasn’t an exception

Looking at the time it was already 1:27 AM (if anyone knows this reference let’s be friends)

You sighed looking at the time

You had to wake up early in the morning for school

Packing all your things and making sure everything is off and shut properly you started to leave the training room

Meeting a very dark hallway

It seems like you’re literally the last one in the building

So you decided to make a run for the stairs

Cause like elevators are way scarier at night time

And luckily the training rooms are just on the 2nd floor

So you started to run but halfway you braked almost falling

A light in the corner of your eye caught your attention

You would run further but you had to check if there was still someone in the building

And you low-key didn’t want to get scolded by someone the next day for leaving lights on as the last person

So you walked towards the training room and peeked through the small window

Someone was in there

That someone is Seo Sunghyuk

You know him because he is the kid who always worked hard like you do

And others always talk about a certain handsome guy with honey vocals

He´s also the kid who is a bit clumsy

Which is kind of weird also as there is just a small amount of trainees

And you are close with others but just not with Sunghyuk

It seems like he’s practicing the dance you just learned today in class

His steps weren’t the sharpest but you could see that he was trying to perfect it going back to steps he had missed

But then he missteps and falls

You ran to him unconsciously

Right by his side you asked if he was okay

He just stared at you

Both having great ‘first’ impressions

You all sweaty but sweet to help him up

And he all sweaty but confused getting off the floor

But from that day on you started being friends

More like acquaintances

Saying hi in the hallways

News spread all through the company and you are now known as the power duo in the company

Other trainees start looking up to you both

And some whispering that you might be dating too

Which you kind of ended up doing anyway

You’ve had a connection since the sweaty beginning and getting together together was just the next step

Totally natural progression

And by totally natural I mean legit natural

You both noticed your feelings for each other around the same time

And the official start would be something like this

You were practicing a dance together and you tried to stabilize his steps

But he being clumsy fell forward and took you down with him

And maybe he did that on purpose

Now you were under him and just staring at each other

One time while practicing you decided that one should be punished if a mistake were made

The punishment was to fulfill a wish from the other

This resulting in a cute cuddly chaotic mess

That day ended with no progress whatsoever

Staying even later than before at the company

Ending up making the company your second dorm

They made resting rooms specially because of you but anyone can use it

But they do prohibit cohabitation in these resting rooms

But rules are meant to be broken

And legit it’s the best duo of the company

They know you won’t do anything weird

It has also become a regular thing that you’ll do the evaluation together

And the company is deciding whether just to debut you as a duo

Because you guys are just aces

And it will be the best decision the company had ever made

One of the big pros of being a seventhgrader was being able to drink the firewhisky. Going to Three Broomsticks Inn in Hogsmeade when just wanting to have a nice time and relax was something you and all of your closest friends enjoyed. And tonight was no different.

It was a nice Monday night, and earlier that day you had all completed your last N.E.W.T., which was in charms. Your friends were planning on all celebrating it together, though you had said that you were too exhausted to go out, having studied at almost every hour of the day the past few weeks. But eventually, your best friend Yohan lured you out of the bed when telling you that Seungyoun was going to be there.

Yohan was sure that you had a big ass crush on Seungyoun, whether you knew it or not. Said boy was one of your closest friends, and you wouldn’t want to ruin that for anything in the world. So when he came up in discussion between you and Yohan, you always shrugged it off with a comment like “I mean, he’s cute and all but... I don’t think so...”.

Yet, there was this... feeling growing inside of you every time you hung out with, or even thought about Seungyoun. You weren’t quite sure what it meant - but you were sure you enjoyed it.

So after some nagging, you finally agreed to join your friends for the night out. You and Yohan arrived a little later than the others, but all your friends welcomed you with big smiles and hugs. You had almost forgotten about him for a few seconds, while greeting your other friends, but suddenly you saw Seungyoun in the corner of your eye, giving you his signature smile. You walked over to him and he opened up his arms for you to hug him. You playfully teased him a bit, pretending to be contemplating whether or not to actually hug him, before walking into his embrace. His hugs had always been super cozy - the way he’d hold you not too tightly but not too loosely, the way he’d hold you a bit longer than usual hugs - and they weren’t exactly helping keep the feelings inside of you on the low.

When you pulled away, you stood still for a few seconds, just staring into each others’ eyes, but you two were then pulled into reality when your friends started talking to you and dragging you to take a seat on one of the sofas in the room.

Something you liked about your friend group was that all of the Hogwarts houses were represented in it. Yohan was a Hufflepuff, Seungyoun was a Slytherin along with your friend Dongpyo, your friends Hangyul and Seungwoo were Gryffindors, and your friends Eunsang and Junho were Ravenclaws, and the girls in the friend group were split into different houses aswell. Yet, you all worked so well together. You were all great friends and could have a lot of fun, both with and without firewhisky - though, the latter situation was how it went down tonight.

You all had a good amount of the drink split between you all, and the friend group grew only louder and louder as the hours passed. You were sitting on one edge of the long table as if you were the queen of the room, and Seungyoun was sitting straight across from you, as if he was the king. You two didn’t say much to each other, as there was a bit of distance between you two, but a lot of glances were shot and smiles were sent to each other. It was quite typical for you two; you didn’t need words. You understood each other anyway.

After a while, Minhee, who was the one who seemed to have had the most to drink, came up with an idea. “Let’s play truth or dare!” he exclaimed, to which everyone cheered. Except for you. You knew that truth or dare was primetime for doing things you’d surely regret the next morning, knowing that you’d be having to live with the shame forever. But seeing the blissful and drunk expressions on your friends’ faces, you told yourself that there was no way any of them would remember anything to the next day. No. Way.

So you all began playing, and it was pretty alright at first - Seungwoo had to say which teacher he thought was the prettiest, Eunsang got his hair braided, and much more. “Seungyoun! Truth or dare?” Yohan asked when it was his turn, taking another sip of his drink.

“Dare,” Seungyoun answered grinning.

“Then I dare you to...” Yohan looked around your friend group, trying to think about what to dare him to do. “Kiss the prettiest girl in the room.”

Your heart froze. You felt sick. You were convinced he’d pick anyone of the girls in this room, anyone but you. There were lots of cute girls in your friend group, and you didn’t want to see him kiss anyone else, as you knew that it would hurt really bad.

You were just about to excuse yourself to the bathroom, as you couldn’t handle this - but at that exact moment, in the corner of your eye, you could see Seungyoun standing up from his chair. And when you looked at him fully, your eyes met his.

He was looking straight at you.

And he took a couple of steps around the table, slowly coming closer to you in what felt like slow motion, never breaking eye contact. Neither did you. It was if he had no thoughts of doubt at all, as if the only person he could think about when he was dared was you.

You weren’t sure what was going to happen. Goosebumps covered your skin as he now stood in front of you and you tried your best to hold in a shiver that was creeping up your spine.

But then he smiled. He smiled his regular cute smile, a smile you couldn’t help but to copy. And as you saw that smile of his, you could finally relax as you knew that you were in good hands. And whatever happened, it would be good.

He leaned down a bit so that he was on the same level as you still sitting on your chair. And a hand came to cup your cheek as he slowly leaned closer to you.

It was no news to him that firewhisky made one more brave - but Seungyoun never thought he’d get this brave. Kissing the girl he was crushing on was something he couldn’t believe really happening, and especially not like this. For the first time in front of all your friends. But he did it.

He let his soft lips push against yours in a slow motion, and time stopped for a while. You never thought you’d enjoy kissing Seungyoun as much as you did. All you could hear was fireworks going off in the background, describing exactly how you were feeling on the inside. That was, until you could also hear you friends yelling at you two and wolf-whistling, making you pull your face back. You looked at Seungyoun, whose face was still very close to yours, and he was now smiling even more than before (if possible).

He was pulled back by his shoulder by Hangyul, along with a loud “get a room” making the whole crowd laugh. And the blush on your cheeks grew by the second. 

Seungyoun sat down on his seat again soon, and you didn’t dare look over at him for a good while. But when you finally did, he was looking straight back at you. Grinning. And you had to smile back.

You all soon decided that it was time to head back, in hopes of getting at least a little bit of sleep before breakfast next morning. After the short walk, you greeted all your friends goodbye as you were parting your ways to get to your rooms - but you couldn’t find Seungyoun. He must’ve left when you didn’t see. It felt weird not saying a single word to him after what happened, but at the same time you didn’t know what you would have said. You went to bed anyways and tried not to think about it too much; you would most probably talk to him tomorrow again.

But you didn’t. You had spotted him in class a couple of times as he was talking to his friends, but you didn’t approach him. You didn’t dare. What would you say? You felt insecure, what if he only thought you were pretty? That was the dare, after all. It wasn’t to kiss his crush, only someone he found pretty. Maybe this was just a way of him not exposing his crush to another of the girls in the room?

But what you weren’t aware of was that he had seen you too. He had watched you when you studied, and thought to himself about wether to approach you or not. And what he would say to you if he did. He really wanted to, he wanted to confess his feelings to you, the feelings he had carried inside of him for a long time; he liked you. But he was afraid you wouldn’t answer his feelings. So instead of talking to you, he always just walked away.

The days went past, and the two of you continued sneaking around each other without talking to each other. Neither of you dared.

And as the time passed, you laid your attention on something else. It was time for the annual quidditch fight between hogwarts and a magic school in Japan, where the teachers pick out the best players from all houses to compete together - and you had been selected to play as the seeker. You had been practicing hard with your new teammates, so you didn’t really have time to think about Seungyoun.

But the game didn’t exactly end as you had anticipated.

A couple of minutes into the game, you got a bit distracted chasing the golden snitch, and you forgot to pay attention to your surroundings - missing the bludger that was on its way towards you. “Watch out!” someone on your team yelled, and you looked up in the last second, to see the bludger heading straight towards your head. And then it all went black.

When you woke up again, it took took you quite a while to understand where you were. The room was very light, and you soon noticed that you were laying down in a hospital bed. You were in the hospital wing. Just as you were about to look around the room to see if a matron was there, you heard a soft voice from beside you.

“Oh, you’re awake?” You turned your head to the side, and there sat Seungyoun who was looking down at you, his face filled with worry. “How are you feeling?”

“Except for the enormous pain in my head, it’s all fine,” you said, to which he smiled slightly. “What happened?”

“Someone aimed a bludger right towards you, and none of your teammates were there to help you. According to the matron, you only have a concussion, which is lucky considering the height you fell from.” You nodded but quickly halted your actions due to the pain it caused. “Is there anything I can do for you?”

“Just...” You let out a sigh, not believeing you were actually about to say this to the boy you had liked for quite a while now. “stay with me?”

Seungyoun smiled at you and nodded, and you suddenly felt something softly squeeze your hand. You looked down towards it, and holding it was Seungyoun’s hand. When did he start holding my hand? You thought. Has he been holding it all this time? From before I even woke up? A well-recognized blush crept up on your cheeks, but you smiled at him when you noticed that his face too was dyed in a light pink color.

“Thank you.” You squeezed his hand back and smiled at him. “And thank you for the kiss. I...” You looked away for a few seconds, too scared to see his reaction to what you were going to say next. “I really liked it.”

“I liked it too,” his soft voice murmured and you looked back at him with a shocked look on your face. “but not as much as I like you.”

If you thought you had been blushing hard before, you were blushing enormously hard right now. You looked back in his eyes and they seemed to support the exact message Seungyoun just told you. “I like you too.”

“Let’s talk about this later, hm? You need to rest.” You nodded again (slower and more carefully this time, to prevent yourself from making the same mistake again) and he pulled his head down a bit to place a soft kiss to the back of your hand. “Sweet dreams.”

- and while jisung knew he could ignore it and go on with his life, it still hurt when he read those messages 

- sometimes he had a habit of searching his name on naver and it only hurt more once he realized there were people who generally didn’t like him and wanted someone else in the group 

- he was only human after all, and it was only natural for him to be hurt, right? 

- and while their words cut deep, he forced himself to put a smile on his face and continued life as normal

- (really, what kind of person are you to tell someone that they are ugly and that they should go serve because your picks didn’t get in? a cruel person)

- he was the same jisung, the mom of the group, the one who knew how to lighten the mood and comfort others if they needed it

- but sometimes, he was so focused on taking care of others that he forgot about himself

- to others, he may look like he was having the time of his life. debuting after many years of training and was ranked 8th, securing his spot in wanna one

- but to you, he was hurting

- you could see through the smiles he put on, or through the jokes he made. and the fact that when everyone else was focused on something else, that smile faded and for once, he looked tired

- at first, you weren’t quite sure what to say to him. how should you approach it?? how could you bring up the topic without meaning to offend him?   

- those thoughts lingered for a while and finally, you manned up and confronted him

- it was after rehearsal, and you couldn’t stand the smiles and jokes jisung made because you knew they were fake and that he was hurting deeply 

- (you ended up confronting him at the dorms when everyone was busy with their own activities) 

- ‘’hey, are u okay?” 

- ‘’of course, why wouldn’t i be?”

- and he gave you that damn smile again and you could feel yourself slowly beginning to break because how can a someone look so happy when they are hurting inside? 

- ‘i know you aren’t, fess up’’ 

- and while you knew you were being harsh, you knew it was the only way to spill even though he would easily cry 

- the smile on jisung’s face began to fade but still, he kept up that front

- and it was back and forth between the two of you to make him confess

- ‘’im fine, why wouldn’t i be?”

- but as he said that, the smile slowly started to tremble and tears began to well up 

- (and while you wanted to laugh at his crying face that vaguely reminded you of kim kardashian,,you ended up pulling him into a hug instead)

- ‘’i know you aren’t’’ 

- and while you didn’t pressure him to spill any more than he wanted to, he ended up saying everything on his mind while basically sobbing into your shoulder 

- how people thought he was ugly, how he didn’t deserve his rank because he was too old and should serve in the army, and basically everything about him 

- and while hearing his thoughts (even though you were secretly wanting to throw hands) you rubbed his back and didn’t say anything because sometimes the best way to comfort someone is to let them spill out their problems

- and sometimes they bottle it up so much, they are bound to explode one day 

- with a promise to stay with him and defend against his haters (in all honesty, you did want to throw hands,,,but maybe with minhyun because you couldn’t fight all of them alone) you promised to always be by his side and maybe go out for ice cream because you heard it helps heal the soul

-’’ok but don’t listen to them. after all, what are they doing with their lives?? nothing !! a bunch of nobodies who resulted into hating you because their top pick didn’t get voted in like sweaty at least jisung got in’’

aND you were so jittery he kept laughing at you

you two go on the ride and you almost trip over the step aHA

minhyun holds your waist so you don’t fall

tbh he is always taking care of you

like how his hand is always on the small of your back during the ride

but you’re too busy closing your eyes

the ride ends and you get all wobbly

I mean I can’t put him in high school

and I know he is also a beautiful fairy who doesn’t really age but I still can’t place him in high school

so uni it is.

Jisung is well loved on campus

like how can you not love this meme and his ulzzangness

he greets everyone with his sweet smile

and the ones he knows well with his jisung clap

imagine him and seongwoo just in the middle of campus clapping and others just joining for the fun of it

him being a helpful fluffball cause you supposedly need help

you don’t, you’re like one of the smartest in all classes

but you’ve had this crush on him for about forever and you wanted to act up on it without being weird.

so you needed an excuse to start up a convo somehow so this is the best your brain came up with

actually not really a bad idea

surprisingly not that surprising tbh he immediately agreed in helping you out when you texted him  

you can’t really believe it so you rubbed your eyes a lot and asked your friends for confirmation that it isn’t a dream

you’re excited and very nervous

and you know that when you get too nervous you start to talk a lot

and heck with Jisung there is gon be a lot of talking 

like a casual topic comes up and you just start talking about it and everything that has to do with the topic

it’s the nerves but it doesn’t sound hasty. It’s just like you’re storytelling.

and you have a lot of stories to tell apparently

your mind will warn you that you’re rambling and when you realize you stop

jisung is just smiling at you.  

he likes listening to you while also trying to help you with some problems even if you legit don’t need explanation

it’s also kind of hard for you to fake being dumb in the supposed class so most of the time you just mumble yes and okays and can you say that again.  

but jisung knows you’re faking it

truth to be told it surprised him that you asked him for help when he knows you have never failed or got below 90

so he just played along because he was wondering where it would lead

truth to be told again he has a crush on you too but on both sides it just never really happened

because Jisung doesn’t know how and doesn’t want to ruin anything  

and you the rambling potato are meanwhile surprised that you haven’t said anything about your crush yet.  

but one day he confronts you

“Why did you ask me to tutor you?”

‘Oh no he is onto me…’

“Cause I need help? And you’re the smartest in class?”

you can’t answer confidently so that’s why there are question marks

“I know you don’t need any help. You’ve never failed anything before.”

you can’t look at his face you’ve been lying to him all along

you sigh once and again for dramatic effect

Jisung is silent, waiting

sighs a third time

“I like you…”

pause

and ramble

“For a long time I wanted to say something but never got the chance to so I just got this random idea about me supposedly failing this class and asked you for help and I never would have thought you would say yes but you did and I’ve just been lying to you for several weeks now and now we’re here…”  

did you think Jisung would stop your rambling?  

nope. not today

he listens  

when you are done he just smiles and goes for a hug

“I’ve liked you ever since the first time I saw you at the campus square.”
